Beden, Akıl ve Ruh; İnsanın Tanımı

İnsan doğasına değin ilginç düşünceler geliyor kafama. İzninizle paylaşayım. Bir süredir savunduğum bir şey vardı, kendimizi ne kadar farklı görsek de rezil insanlar ile aramızdaki tek farkın yetiştiğimiz ortamlar olduğu şeklinde. Bu fikrin toplumsal ayrışmayı çözecek bir fikir olduğunu düşünüyordum kendimce. Şu an, savunduğum fikir değişmese de bakış açım 180 derece döndü. Kafamda bahsedeceğim düşünceleri yeşerten olayla gireyim konuya.

Geçenlerde bir haber vardı, gecenin 3ünde bir adam sokaktan geçen bir kadına tecavüz etmişti. Haber yeterince üzücü değilmiş gibi “bağzı” insanların “Bir kadının yalnız başına gecenin 3ünce sokakta ne işi varmış” deyişleri ile sinir katsayımız artmıştı. Bu haberde de yukarıdaki bakış açısını kullanmaya çalıştım. Bu adamın nasıl bir yetişme ortamı vardı ve bu nasıl düzeltilebilirdi? Ama sonra bir şey düşündüm, kafamda şimşekler çaktı, hatta akabinde beynim yandı…

Düşünce aslında basitti: bu adamı bu aksiyona iten şey hormonlarıydı, testosteron, adrenalin vb. Tetiği aldığı halde yoluna devam etmeyip yaptığı iğrenç işe soyunmasını sağlayan ise bilinci idi. Biz ne kadar kişinin benliğini, bilincini suçlamak istesek de aslında adamda olmayan bir yönü suçlamış olacağız. Esas suçlu bedenin kendi oluyor, arzuyu enforse ettiği için. Hani o büyük dinlerin, kulağınıza kötülükler fısıldar dediği şeytan var ya, işte o şeytan içinde yaşadığınız bedenin ta kendi…

Bu fikri hazmettiğimde birçok taş yerine oturdu. En basitinden başlayayım.

Benim için “insan” artık 1 kafa 1 vücut 4 uzuvdan oluşan akıllı canlı değil. İnsan, bir ideal artık. Bu hayvandan bozma bedende hayvandan uzak yaşayabilen, barışçıl, yaratıcı, sevgi dolu bir varlık artık. Biz (bu yazıyı okuyanlar) çoğunlukla iyi ailelerde, iyi çevrelerde yetişmiş insanlarız. Belirli bir bilinç seviyemiz var. Daha ileri gitmek azmimize kalıyor. İnsan idealine yaklaşmak tamamen bizim irade ve sabrımıza kalıyor.

Konunun daha derin anlamlarından biri dini çerçeveye giriyor. Her ne kadar herhangi bir büyük dinin mensubu olarak anılmaktan (o dindeki aşırılar yüzünden) mutlu olmasam da tanrı inancımı kaybetmedim. Yakın zamanda okuduğum bir uzak doğu din kitabı (Musa zamanlarına düşen bir kitap) ruh kavramını doğmamış, doğurmamış, başı sonu olmayan olarak tanımlıyordu. Tanıdık geldi mi? lem yelit ve lem yulet? Tanrı = Ruh? (Merak edenler bkz Güzel Tanrının Gizli Hazinesi 2. bölüm 20. söz). Kuran’da, eski ve yeni Ahit’te ruhun ne olduğu ile ilgili neredeyse hiçbir bilgi verilmemiş. Söylenebilecek çoğu şey dolaylı olarak söylenebiliyor. Eski kitaplarda olup da yenilerinde düşürülen bilgileri doğru kabul edersek, özellikle tasavvuf literatüründe sıkça bahsedilen tanrıya ulaşma, uzak evrenlerde olmuyor, ama tam olarak burada oluyor.

Gelişen bilinç ilk olarak bedenin zorlamalarını engelliyor. Sinir, şehvet, açgözlülük ve saire. Bunlar doğru yönde gelişen bilinç ile azalıyor. Sonrasında adım adım “insan” olmaya yaklaşıyoruz. Gelişen bilinç, açıklanamaz bir evrende var olan ruhun veya tanrının yavaş yavaş bedenlenmesini sağlıyor. Özellikle doğu dinleri ve hristiyanlıkta görülen “bedenlenmiş tanrı” “tanrı inkarnasyonu” gibi kavramlar, öyle kulağa ilk geldiği gibi elinden kasırgalar savuran figürler yerine, adil, sevgi ve şefkat dolu, huzurlu insanlara doğru gidiyor. Veya benim oluşturduğum konseptte, birisi ideal insan olduğunda, bu dünyada olan ile bu dünyada görülmeyeni bir yapmış oluyor.

İslam tarafından incelendiğinde de ilginç fikirler ortaya çıkıyor. Bir zamanlar milletvekilinin biri dalga geçmişti, bakara makara diye. Hah, tam o bölümde 30. sözden itibaren şu geçiyor: Tanrı Adem’i yaratır. (İnsan değil, Adem). Melekler der ki yeryüzüne kargaşa çıkaracak bir halife mi göndereceksin? Tanrı der ki ben sizin bilmediğinizi bilirim, siz sadece size öğretileni bilirsiniz. Adem sizden üstündür, onun önünde saygıyla eğilin. Şeytan bunu reddeder ve kafir olur. Bu kültür içinde yetişenler burada geçen konuşmaların hep ayakta duran üç beş figür arasında geçtiğini düşünür. Sanki Tanrı, Apple CEO’su imiş, son ürünü ile izleyicilerin karşısına çıkmıştır da aradan birisi “bu ne len?” demiştir gibi.

Onun yerine eğer bir prototip olarak Adem’i beden-akıl bileşimi olarak alırsak, incelediğimiz pencereden, bedenin akla saygı duymaması gayet normal karşılanabilir, çünkü daha geniş bir pencereden akıl, ancak beden ile var olabilir. İlk akıllı insan yeryüzünde yürüdüğünden beri beden, aklı çeşitli numaralarla alt etmiştir. Önce açlık ile kötü şeyler yaptırmıştır. Sonra şehvet ile kötü şeyler yaptırmıştır. Aklı yenmiştir. Bir deyiş vardır ya “şeytan kanına girmiş” diye, bu kadar cuk oturamazdı.

Yukarı boyutlardan gelen bir bağlantı olduğuna inanıyorum, ruh, yüksek bilinç, tanrının bir parçası ne derseniz. Çoğu insanda  doğru zaman gelene kadar hareketsiz bekliyor. Akla sahip beden, etrafını öğrenmeye başlıyor, bir karakter oluşturuyor. Bu karakter kişinin bedenini nasıl kullanacağını belirliyor. Onu bir zevk çuvalı gibi görüp aşırı yiyerek obez olabilir, aşırı uyuşturucu kullanıp bağımlı olabilir, aşırı şehvetine düşkün olup keranacı olabilir, aşırı egoist olup diktatör falan olabilir. Veya uyanabilir. Basitçe uyanmak diyorum adına, çünkü aradaki fark uyumak ile uyanıklık arasındaki fark kadar. Bence, uygun bir bilince ulaştıktan sonra insan olma yolunda ilerliyoruz. Yukarı boyutlardan gelen etki yavaş yavaş hareketlerde sezilmeye başlıyor. Düşünceler bir ağırlık kazanıyor. Bahsi geçen yeryüzündeki halife oluyoruz. Bedenlenmiş tanrı oluyoruz, insan oluyoruz.

Bu anlayışı; bilincin, bedenin zorlamalarını yenebileceği anlayışını, tüm insanlığa yayabilmek için toplumların şekillendirilmesi, herkesin uyanabileceği bir dünya inşa edilmesi şart. Çünkü uyanmamış halimizle hayvaniyiz, korkuncuz. Genelde rastgele gelişen karakterlerimizle de gerçekten uyanabilecek konuma gelmemiz imkansız. Dünya değişirken birileri, Morpheus’un Neo’yu ararken insanları uyandırması gibi birer birer uyandırma servisi sunmalı. Çünkü ne kadar çok insan uyanırsa burada, şu anki dünya içinde, geçireceğimiz zaman azalır. Buda’nın dediği gibi “çile dünyası”nda geçireceğimiz süre azalır. Sonra kim oluyoruz, ne oluyoruz, nasıl bir dünyaya gidiyoruz henüz bilmiyorum. Belki de tüm olay bu dünyadaki bu simyayı yapabilmektedir. Simya diyorum çünkü birçok açıdan imkansız görünüyor huzurlu, barış dolu, sevgi dolu bir kalabalığa dönüşmemiz.

The Body, Mind and the Spirit; Definition of Human

I am gaining interesting insights about human nature. Allow me to share. I was defending a point of view recently: no matter how we think we are different from hideous people the only difference we’ve got is the environment that we have grown up. I was thinking this could lead to a way to resolve societal conflicts. Even though my point of view remained the same, the viewing angle is turned upside down. Let me start with the inciting event.

There was a news recently, about a man who raped a woman at 3 A.M. For this event I tried to use the point of view that I’ve just described. How was the growing conditions of that man and how could it be fixed? But then I had thought about something else which has consequently overdriven my brain…

The thought was simple: They were the hormones that drove the person to commit that horrible action; testosterone, adrenalin etc. The thing that *Did Not* prevent him from doing that action was his conscience. Although we will likely to blame his character and conscience, we will be blaming that which does not exist! Actual criminal is therefore the body itself for enforcing that desire. The Devil, whom the organised religions mention as whisperer of sins, is the very body that we possess…

As soon as I digested this idea many things became clearer. Let me start from the simplest one.

From right now, “human” is not a term for a sentient creature with two legs, two arms and one head. Human is an ideal. A being, that is capable of spreading peace, living in peace and love, inside this body of animal origin. Most of us (who might be reading this) have been raised in a good neighborhood, in sound families. We have a level of consciousness. It is left to our own determination to be a better person. It is up to our will and patience to move closer to human ideal.

One of the deeper meanings of this realisation is religious. Even though I don’t like being associated with an organized religion I still hold a belief in god. A far eastern religion book which I happened to read recently (which appeared around the time of Moses) talked about the soul as that which is not born and not to bore and that which has no beginning and end. (Hidden Treasure of the Sweet Absolute chapter 2 verse 20). That definition is close to the definition of actual God in semitic religions. In neither the old and the new Testament nor Kuran, any information regarding the soul is given. If we accept old definitions, which are dropped in newer books, as true; then the process of reaching to god and merging with it, as it appears in sufi traditions, do not happen in distant universes but it happens right here, on Earth. The enforcements of the body is blocked by the evolving consciousness. The anger, lust, greed and so on…

We are climbing the steps of becoming “human” one by one. The evolving consciousness makes way for the soul, or god, that exists in an ineffable universe to be “incarnated” in us. The concept of incarnate god which appears in christianity and eastern religions does not imply a figure who throws storms out of her hands but instead implies a human that is just, full of love, compassion and peace. To say it differently, once somebody becomes an ideal human she combines that which exits here and that which is not seen here.

This idea has implications for Islam too. There is a section of Koran, Bakara. In that section starting from 30th verse, creation of Adam is described. God creates Adam (Adam, not Human). Angels object and say, will you send a caliph (messenger) that will cause havoc on the surface of the Earth? God answers, you only know what has been taught to you, Adam is superior then you, bow in front of him. The notorious Satan rejects this and becomes the devil, the infidel. People who have grown inside this culture think about this scene as few people standing and talking with each other. As if the god was the CEO of Apple and he was presenting his newest product, suddenly someone from the audience stood up and said “what the hell?”

If we think about the Adam as a prototype for mind-body combination, it would be meaningful to think that the body, the devil, to reject the superiority of the mind; because from a broader perspective mind can only exist in a body. Since the first day that sentient hominid walked on earth, the body has manipulated the mind with tricks. Initially the body caused the mind to do terrible things due to hunger. Then the body forced the mind to bend with the lust and greed. There is a saying, in Turkish, the devil flew into the bloodstream. There couldn’t be a more coincident saying.

I believe there is a connection with higher realms; the soul, higher consciousness, a part of god whatever you call it. It waits dormant until the right consciousness is accumulated. Body with a proper mind starts learning the environment, builds up a character. This character determines how the person will use his body. He can see the body as a bag of pleasures and become addicted to substances, become obese by overeating, become a pimp due to the lust, become a dictator by being egoist. Or he can just awaken. I call it awakening because the difference is as much as the difference of waking and sleeping. After reaching a certain level of consciousness we start to walk a path that reaches to being a real human. The actions start to show signs of the influence of higher realms. Thought start to transmute. We slowly become the caliph on earth, the incarnate god, or simply human.

The societies should start to change to take in this notion; the suppression of  destructive instincts via an evolving consciousness. A world should be built, in which people can awaken. Because in our sleeping versions we are animalistic and horrible. Also it is nearly impossible for randomly evolving character to lead way to awakening. Somebody should awaken people one by one like Morpheus did while searching Neo, in this changing world. If we can awaken quickly enough, our time here will be shorter, in this world of suffering as Buddha put it, in this world where we create mayhem. I don’t know who we become afterwards or what kind of society we will become. Maybe the only thing is to accomplish this alchemy in this world. I call it alchemy because it is as impossible as alchemy to become this peaceful, loving and compassionate crowd.
